Please read all the following instructions for the parade. Please pay special attention to PARADE RULES, DIVISIONS and CLASS NUMBERS. AWARDS Awards for winners in each CLASS: 1st place, 2nd and 3rd place. The decision of entry placement by the director, and awards by the judges, are final. Award presentation at Clair Engle Park at 1:00 P.M. PARADE ENTRIES CLOSE May 1, 2018. Late entries will be accepted, but will be placed at the end of the parade and will not be eligible for awards. To receive your ENTRY NUMBER, you must check in between 8-9:45a.m. at the CHECK-IN area 1525 Median Avenue in front of the Community Center. Parade officials will be able to direct you. LINE UP NUMBERS will be on the STREET. FLOATS: All floats must be fully decorated. Floats must use flame retardant paper and have access to a fire extinguisher. To minimize problems in turning, floats will line up on Hardenbrook Ave., beside and behind the Law Enforcement Center. Numbers will be on the street. Floats will need to enter the line-up by turning North on Median Ave., then West to Red Bluff St., (behind the law enforcement center), and then south onto Hardenbrook and proceed to your numbered space. Make sure your entry is ready in line-up at 9:30 a.m. sharp! No pre-judging. BANDS: No pre-judging. Uniforms must be exactly alike. Parade Route: drill while marching; no more than 8 complete cadences between songs; synchronization important. Main Judging Stand: salute judges - 1 minute maximum! Drum Majorettes encouraged to excel. MOUNTED ENTRIES:Unloading will be on McConnell St. No Pre-judging Mounted entries will be judged using the California State Horseman’s Association Rule Book. Parade authorities have the right to dismiss any entry that is not properly groomed, or who have lost control of their animal, or is disorderly. Mounted & other animal entries will be responsible for cleaning up their loading area before leaving. |
